Arun Rapid Response Craft

Originating from the same design stable as the world renown Arun Class offshore lifeboat, the Arun Marine Design series of RIB style boats are a third generation craft with a permanent lightweight foam/elastomer “D” section fender system, which is fitted in sections to aid replacement of damaged parts.  The advantages of this system are that it is puncture proof, harder wearing and is fitted in sections that are easily removed for repair or replacement. The boat cannot be endangered at sea by loss of inflation as is the case with inflatable tubes which could result in a failure to return from a mission.

AIRPORT RESCUE CRAFT

ARUN 925

Like all Keltic Marine vessels, the Arun series are constructed of aerospace composite materials compliant with ISO and Classification Society requirements.

The craft are able to operate in adverse weather conditions and are fitted with a counter stern to allow greater control when running slow in a following sea or boarding ship to ship.

Power is provided by twin inboard marine diesels driving through hydraulically operated reverse gearboxes to twin propellers under the stern, twin water jet propulsion units, Caudwell Axis Drive or twin, high horsepower outboard motors.

All Arun vessels are self-righting, by means of the buoyancy contained within the watertight superstructure.

Arun RRC’s are available in lengths of 6.5, 7.9. 9.25 and 12.0 metres, however each unit is specially modified to meet the individual customers specific operational requirements.

Using technology gained by Keltic Marine in the development of their Seahunter Patrol Boats, the Arun series can be optionally produced with increased stealth capability, ballistic protection and innovative propulsion systems.
