The Arun 1200 Rapid Response Craft is a new generation craft which has been developed from over 2 decades of experience gained with designing and building conventional Rigid Inflatable Craft. Arun 1200’s are successfully operated by, amongst others, The Royal National Lifeboat Institution, the North Sea Offshore stand by-by industry, and various specialist military users including the British Forces.

The modified round bilge, deep vee hull form and spray rails give the craft high quality soft riding characteristics and promote predictable handling at all speeds. The craft is able to operate in adverse weather conditions and is fitted with a counter stern to allow greater control when running slow in a following sea or boarding ship to ship.

The vessel is inherently self-righting, by means of the buoyancy contained within the watertight superstructure.

The craft has accommodation in the wheelhouse for a total of 4 crew, and either a further 6 survivors or 2 stretcher cases. The forward cabin has seating for up to 9 survivors, or 4 survivors and 2 stretcher cases. In an emergency situation, the craft has sufficient reserves of stability and buoyancy to accommodate up to 30 survivors, on board.
